On June 19, 2025, the Baku ID Innovation Festival was held with the support of the SABAH.HUB Innovation Center. This year’s event, hosted at Jolly Joker Baku and the Stone Chronicle Museum, is centered around the theme “The Regional Nexus,” which focuses on fostering innovation and technological collaboration among the Caucasus, Central Asia, the Middle East, and North Africa regions.
The official opening of Baku ID 2025 began with a speech by Rahim Bayramli, the CEO of SABAH.HUB. Board member Farhad Pashayev followed with remarks emphasizing the festival’s significance in shaping the national innovation agenda.
In his opening remarks, Rahim Bayramli announced that Azerbaijan is entering a new phase in its innovation agenda, highlighting the launch of the SABAH.city construction project, which is set to host Baku ID 2026. This development is expected to accelerate technological growth in the region and further establish Azerbaijan as a leading innovation hub.
As in previous years, the festival brings together representatives from leading government institutions and prominent organizations.
Fariz Jafarov, Head of the Center for Analysis and Coordination of the Fourth Industrial Revolution under the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, delivered a speech on artificial intelligence, new skills, and the future workforce. He provided insights into the activities of the Center, known as 4SIM, noting that the organization’s initiatives allow youth to explore the latest global trends and innovations through international forums. 4SIM supports human capital development by offering training in areas such as technology literacy and presentation skills, helping cultivate the next generation of professionals.
This year’s Baku ID festival offers a dynamic networking environment for investors, startups, and guests, along with productive meetings fostering real collaborations and new partnerships.
The event features participation from over 32 local and international investors, more than 75 local and global startups, over 4,000 attendees, and 21+ partner organizations.
One of the highlights of the Baku ID festival is the startup competitions, which showcase some of the region’s most promising and innovative projects. These competitions provide young entrepreneurs with critical opportunities to connect with global investors and bring their ideas to life.
The event also creates valuable opportunities for talented students. Through the University Demo Day, students will present their innovative projects to investors and compete for scholarships offered by ABB Tech Academy.
It’s worth noting that Baku ID 2025 is organized in partnership with leading institutions such as the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, SOCAR, PASHA Holding, and 4SIM. Thanks to this strong support, Baku ID is rapidly gaining recognition not only regionally but also internationally as a key innovation platform.
