Anthropic's Claude AI model has helped restore a Bitcoin wallet that had been locked for years. A user named "Cprkrn" on the X social network said that he was able to regain access to the wallet, which contained 5 BTC worth about $400,000, after a long time. According to Blockchain data, no transactions have been made in that wallet since 2015.
The user initially used password recovery programs such as btcrecover and Hashcat, but they failed. Then he uploaded the files from his old university computer to Claude AI. The AI analyzed the old wallet files and helped find information that matched the mnemonic phrase recorded on the notebook, and as a result, the wallet was opened.
The user shared that he had changed his password years ago and then forgot it, so he could not use the account. The incident caused widespread discussion on social networks. Although some users consider this a great success of artificial intelligence technology, security experts say that Claude did not break Bitcoin encryption. According to them, AI has accelerated the recovery process by simply finding relevant clues among the vast amount of data and files.
