DJI introduces new Romo 2 robot vacuum cleaners

DJI has introduced the Romo 2 series, a new generation of robot vacuum cleaners. According to the company, the DJI Romo P2 and DJI Romo A2 models in the series are distinguished by both their distinctive design and advanced navigation system.

The new robot vacuum cleaners are equipped with a suction power of up to 36 thousand Pa. The devices come with a disc-shaped mop system for wet cleaning and automatically increase the pressure when detecting heavy pollution, cleaning the floor more effectively.

The navigation system of the devices includes a binocular sensor, a ToF sensor and a lidar. Thanks to these technologies, the robots can accurately recognize thin wires, glass and mirror surfaces. When climbing onto the carpet, the mop is automatically raised and the suction power is increased.

DJI has also installed a special light system in the housing for faster detection of dust. According to the company, this light does not cause any discomfort to residents and pets.

Robot vacuum cleaners can overcome obstacles up to 8.5 cm high. The docking station automatically washes and dries the cleaning heads. The devices are controlled via the DJI Home app.

The Romo 2 series will go on sale in China on June 11. The DJI Romo P2 will cost $883, while the water and sewer version will cost $956. The DJI Romo A2 will cost $809, while the advanced base station version will cost $883.
