Dropbox unifies AI-based workflows on one platform

Dropbox has expanded its AI integrations to make it easier for users to work with documents. Thanks to the innovation, users will be able to access Dropbox content directly from ChatGPT, Claude and Google Gemini Spark, organize files, share and manage multi-stage workflows.

The innovation, introduced in July 2026, covers the ChatGPT Work, ChatGPT and ChatGPT Codex platforms. In June, Dropbox launched integrations with Anthropic’s Claude, Claude Cowork and Claude Code services. That same month, Google also announced Dropbox integration for Gemini Spark.

The company says this move is part of its strategy for an AI workspace called Dash. Dash is being developed as a single AI platform for searching and managing data across various business applications.

Dropbox also uses Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers to provide secure access to files for AI applications based on existing permissions. Administrators can restrict access to applications, while the hosted MCP server operates in read-only mode.
