Artificial intelligence company Anthropic has signed a large-scale computing power deal with Elon Musk’s xAI. According to a document filed with the US Securities and Exchange Commission, Anthropic will pay xAI $1.25 billion per month until May 2029.
The deal covers the use of 300 megawatts of computing power from the Colossus 1 data center near Memphis. It was reported that Anthropic will benefit from a discounted rate for the first two months until xAI completes the full launch of the infrastructure.
Under the current terms, the total value of the deal is said to exceed $40 billion. According to the agreement, either party can terminate the agreement with 90 days’ notice.
In addition, SpaceX announced that it plans to sign additional computing service agreements in the future.
