Founded in 2023 by former Tinkoff executives Neri Tollardo, Alexander Bro, and Danil Anisimov, Plata raised $250 million in October after raising $160 million in March 2025. The company is now valued at $3.1 billion.
Plata is in the process of obtaining a full banking license in Mexico, which will expand its product portfolio, which has so far only included credit cards. Oleg Tinkoff is overseeing the project and calls Plata “the fastest-growing fintech startup in Mexico.” According to the first half-year results, revenue exceeded $300 million, and in the future it is expected to reach $10 billion with an IPO.
