Four AI Standards Implemented in Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan has already implemented four standards as part of its national strategy for the development of artificial intelligence (AI). This information was shared by Salar İmaməliyev, Commercial Director of the Innovation and Digital Development Agency (IRIA), during the opening ceremony of the “StrategEast: State and Information Technology Eurasia Forum 2025” held in Baku.

İmaməliyev stated that earlier this year, the government approved the “Azerbaijan Artificial Intelligence Strategy 2025–2028,” a comprehensive roadmap aimed at building a sustainable AI ecosystem. The strategy focuses on developing the necessary infrastructure, enhancing human capital, and ensuring that AI brings benefits to both the economy and society.

He added that international market analyses have already been conducted, evaluation methodologies have been aligned with global standards, and the Digital Code is being implemented across government institutions. Four of these standards are now actively applied and serve the public.

İmaməliyev also highlighted that the AI Academy has been established to accelerate AI adoption in the country. The academy’s primary mission is to integrate advanced global practices into the academic environment. Its programs, focused on education and research, are designed to match the level of institutions such as MIT, Stanford, Harvard, and Carnegie Mellon.

However, the goal extends beyond academia — the system is also intended to impact daily life. The platform currently demonstrates 98% accuracy, providing users with reliable and legally compliant results rather than just probable answers, İmaməliyev emphasized.
