Google provides fiber internet service with a speed of 20 Gbit/s. This service will be provided using Nokia's 25G PON technology and Wi-Fi 7 routers developed in collaboration with Google and Actiontec.
The new internet service will be available in Kansas City in the first quarter of 2024, and users will be able to get this speed for $250. Google's fiber internet service will be offered at a speed of 20 Gbit/s. Several users will be able to use the service offered by Wi-Fi 7 routers developed in collaboration with Google and Actiontec with a single plan. For example, 20 people will be able to get 1 Gbit connection for $12.50 per month. While Google's service is expensive, AT&T offers 5 Gbps for the same price.
However, the biggest problem with Google's fiber service is that it is not widely available in the country. The company currently offers 5 and 8 Gbit speeds to its customers.
