On April 30, 2025, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev attended the opening of the new "IVECO" truck and special-purpose vehicle manufacturing plant of "Az-Tex-Import" LLC located in the Sumgayit Chemical Industrial Park. The President personally drove one of the special-purpose vehicles produced at the opening ceremony, demonstrating the high attention and importance he attaches to the activities of the enterprise.
The success of the economic diversification and industrialization policy
This plant, built by "Az-Tex-Import" LLC with the application of advanced Italian technologies, is located on a 4-hectare area of the Sumgayit Chemical Industrial Park. The enterprise, with an investment value of 19.2 million manat, is intended to produce light, medium and heavy-tonnage trucks, as well as special-purpose vehicles. The annual production capacity of the plant is 100 vehicles and 90 people will be provided with permanent jobs here.
Export potential and regional cooperation
Approximately 70 percent of the cars produced will be exported to foreign markets, including Russia, Georgia, Turkmenistan and Iran. This is one of the important steps taken towards the development of Azerbaijan's non-oil sector and strengthening regional economic relations.
Future plans and expansion prospects
According to Samir Ibadullayev, founder of "Az-Tex-Import" LLC, in the future it is planned to produce "IVECO" brand light-tonnage trucks in the "Araz Valley Economic Zone" located in the Jabrayil district. It is planned to provide additional 80 people with jobs within the framework of this project.
The participation of President Ilham Aliyev at this opening and personally driving the car once again confirms the successful implementation of the industrialization policy in the country and the importance the state attaches to this area.
