The Iranian parliament has approved a bill to create a National Center for Artificial Intelligence, which will operate under the supervision of the country’s President.
According to the Mehr news agency, the new center will coordinate the development of AI ecosystems in Iran using national resources.
The center’s secretariat will facilitate collaboration among government bodies and oversee the implementation of the national AI strategy. The head of the center will be appointed by the Iranian President.
This initiative in Tehran is seen as a significant step toward institutionalizing AI governance and integrating AI technologies into the country’s national policy.
