Israeli army rejects Chinese-made vehicles

According to official sources, the main reason for this decision is the cybersecurity risk. Although Israeli cyber engineers have tried to eliminate security gaps in the cars, these attempts have failed. Experts say that as a result of investigations into data leaks at some military facilities, suspicions are likely to be directed at Chery cars.

This Israeli step follows a similar decision by the United States - currently, Chinese-made passenger cars are not sold in the United States. However, Chinese brands such as BYD, Nio and Xpeng are preparing to enter the US market with electric and hybrid models in the coming years.

Chery cars have been purchased by the Israeli army since 2022. Most of them are Tiggo 8 Pro models, and their average price in the Middle East market is about $ 25,000. However, these cars are likely to be purchased in large quantities at discounted prices due to the needs of the army.

Experts believe that this step is an indication of Israel's increased caution in the field of cyberintelligence, and in the future, stricter controls may be imposed on the use of Chinese-origin technologies in state and military structures.
