The most significant new feature is that users will now be able to create tables directly within the program. With this step, Microsoft aims to make users’ work easier and also to fill the gap left by the discontinued “WordPad” application. In other words, you will no longer need to open the full “Word” program just to create a simple table.
In addition, modern artificial intelligence features are being added to the program. For example, the software can read the text you write and generate a summary, or rewrite sentences in a better form. However, not all of these smart features will work on standard computers; some require next-generation computers with powerful processors (Copilot+ PCs).
Currently, these updates are in the testing phase and are being tried out by a limited number of users. Reactions vary: some people are excited about the new capabilities, while others feel that Notepad has always been appreciated for its simplicity and didn’t need to become so complex.
