Turkish Airlines launches “TKPAY” digital payment system

Turkish Airlines (THY) has launched a new digital payment system, “TKPAY”, under a license obtained from the Central Bank. This new ecosystem is not limited to flight ticket sales. Users can make fast and contactless payments via QR codes at restaurants, hotels, supermarkets, and in transportation using their digital wallet.

The system allows users to open accounts in four currencies (TRY, USD, EUR, GBP), exchange currencies at favorable rates, and make 24/7 free money transfers. Additionally, a key feature for loyal customers is the ability to convert Miles&Smiles points into cash instantly for everyday spending.

Managed by THY Payment and Electronic Money Inc., a fully owned subsidiary of Turkish Airlines, TKPAY offers users instant cashback on every payment. During the promotional period, purchases made through the platform also earn “TK Para” worth 10% of the transaction value.

The application has already attracted significant attention, reaching 20,000 active users in a short period.
