Nvidia has invested a total of $5 billion in Intel, acquiring approximately 214.7 million shares at a price of $23.28 per share, Reuters reported. The strategic partnership between the companies was announced to the public in September 2025.
The deal was approved by the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC). The exact percentage of Nvidia's stake in Intel was not disclosed. Bloomberg notes that this investment is designed to strengthen the company's position after Intel's strategic mistakes and weakening financial resources in recent years.
As part of the cooperation, Intel will produce x86-based single-chip systems (SoCs) using Nvidia RTX graphics chips. In addition, the parties also plan to jointly develop a new generation of central processors (CPUs) for data centers.
Recall that Intel attracted $2 billion in investment from SoftBank in August 2025. In the same month, the company transferred about 10% of its shares to the US government.
