OpenAI has introduced a new research tool called "Deep Research." This tool is designed to assist users in conducting in-depth research, particularly in fields such as finance, science, politics, and engineering. It can also be valuable in commercial sectors requiring precise research, such as automotive, household appliances, and furniture industries.
The Deep Research feature allows users to gather comprehensive information from multiple sources and conduct detailed analyses, instead of just providing brief answers. Initially, this function is available exclusively to ChatGPT Pro users, with a limit of 100 queries per month. OpenAI has stated that the feature will be made available to Plus and Team users within a month, and later to Enterprise users. Future plans include increasing the query limits.
To use Deep Research, users must select the "deep research" option in the writing section ("composer") of ChatGPT and enter their queries. Additionally, users can upload files and tables. The results of queries may take anywhere from 5 to 30 minutes to prepare, and users will receive notifications once the results are available. Currently, Deep Research only provides text-based responses, but OpenAI plans to add graphs, data visualizations, and other analytical outputs
