Liberatore will now serve as Head of Business Finance at OpenAI, reporting directly to the company’s Chief Financial Officer, Sarah Friar.
Although Liberatore worked at xAI for only three months, during that short period he actively contributed to the company’s fundraising of $5 billion and the attraction of major investments. This ability makes him an invaluable asset for OpenAI, as the company is not only building software but also constructing large-scale AI infrastructure that requires massive resources.
In his new role, Liberatore will not be limited to financial management alone; he will also ensure the most efficient use of these vast resources. Combined with his previous work experience at Airbnb and his strong expertise in finance and investment, he will provide significant support to OpenAI’s rapid growth and ambitious projects. Thus, this transition strengthens OpenAI’s position both strategically and financially.
