Now the company is developing a business solution that will allow Azerbaijani entrepreneurs to launch fast delivery for their customers.
We talked with Ulvi Shahhuseynbeyov, head of Yango Delivery in Azerbaijan, about how Yango's technologies and international experience help to make delivery in Azerbaijan convenient and very fast.

- In short, this is an express delivery order service. Our main competence is in fast delivery - the most difficult type of delivery.
Yango Delivery is a platform that helps customers find a courier when they need to send something across town, as well as help their service partners and their couriers find orders and generate revenue. The service works as an option in the Yango app, where people can also book a taxi ride.
The main advantage of the platform is its technology: it uses advanced algorithms to find nearby couriers and offer them an order, and if the executive accepts the order, it builds an optimal route for him, taking into account weather conditions and traffic jams, and also combines products that need to be delivered to one destination in one trip .
Technology helps partners reduce delivery costs and offer them at affordable prices, while allowing couriers to increase their revenue.
- Which couriers cooperate with the service and should they have a car? Just trying to figure out what products can be shipped using your service.
- The service allows you to order delivery services through motorcycle and car couriers, as well as couriers who carry out orders in minivans and trucks. With this option, you can send almost any product - from keys to a sofa - across the city in just a few clicks.
- In which cities of Azerbaijan is the Yango Delivery service already available?
- Currently, we are working in two big cities of Azerbaijan - the capital Baku and Sumgait.
- You talked about the service and how you see its use. But how do the residents of these cities actually use it? Do the scenarios match?
- There are many scenarios, the most common is sending a forgotten item or gift. Trucking is used when buying furniture or large appliances, moving purchases from a store, or moving.
When delivery appeared in the application, people intuitively began to use it: it became very easy to try another service with a familiar application.
- What is the "Cargo" tariff? I know this is a new opportunity. What loads can be delivered using this feature?
- Cargo delivery has just appeared in the application. It is suitable for the delivery of large items, such as furniture when moving from an apartment or office, or heavy products from stores and warehouses. These can be car parts, furniture, building materials and other large items. If the weight of the item does not exceed 30 kg and one person can actually lift it, our staff will help with loading and unloading.
- How do technologies help you in delivery work? What solutions do you use in this rather conservative area and do you see potential here?
- In general, technology helps to optimize many processes in logistics and bring transparency and quality standards to the market.
-When Yango users send or receive a product, they can track the delivery status in real time in the app. This is very convenient because it eliminates many questions and reduces the burden of, for example, the service support team. It is easy to see where the courier is now and how long he has to wait. This eliminates misreading of information.
I already talked a little earlier about optimization - high-quality maps, advanced routing, a complex algorithm for combining parcels into one route when their destinations are in the same direction. All this optimizes partners' costs and final costs for customers.
In general, I believe that the future of city services will be determined by convenience for users: both for couriers and customers. The courier should have a convenient program that is easy to understand and helps to fulfill orders. It should have detailed accurate map, correct route, convenient contact with customer and support service. The customer needs fast delivery and peace of mind about the product he is sending. We are also developing the service by working in these directions.
Despite the conservatism of the logistics sector in which we operate, I believe that technology has great potential here. The movement of things, goods, and cargo in the city should be as comfortable, familiar and easy as when people travel in a comfortable taxi.
- Briefly, how does the delivery happen for the customer using Yango, what actions should he take?
- After the order is placed in the Yango application, the courier picks up the cargo from the specified point. The sender and receiver can track the courier's movement in real time through the app. After the delivery is completed, the customer receives a notification and can rate the service in the application.
You can additionally order door-to-door service in the application. At this time, there is no need to go to the courier's car to deliver or receive the package.
- By the way, who uses the service more: business organizations or private individuals?
- Now only private individuals. But we see the interest of big business in the expertise of our service: especially small companies and individual entrepreneurs. Their demand, of course, differs from the needs of individuals.
If individuals use this service from time to time, that is, when they urgently need to send documents, a forgotten charger, a gift or another item, then entrepreneurs want to use the service regularly and have their own needs. For example, you need regular delivery on certain routes, the ability to set up multiple pickup points at one departure point, or something else. And they, of course, want delivery reports and smooth document circulation.
With all these features in mind, we are now working on a new solution for business and we will share details about it soon. Companies will be able to choose how to conveniently manage deliveries: through a web cabinet or by integrating the platform through an API.
What is interesting here is that complex technologies that significantly improve the recycling of logistics resources and optimize logistics costs will be equally accessible to businesses of any size: from an individual entrepreneur with an Instagram-shop to large retail chains and markets.
I think that easy access to fast delivery services will take the development of e-commerce to a new level in our cities. This is the opportunity to compete by launching new services, improving overall service quality, and reaching a new audience of buyers who want to buy with convenience and literally on-demand delivery.
- Is there any training for couriers that will help them quickly understand and provide services at the required quality?
- Couriers are trained in our application, within the framework of which they get acquainted with the requirements of the service and the rules for fulfilling orders. After the training is completed, they take an online test to learn how to handle different types of loads depending on their characteristics. We also have a sophisticated internal quality control system that monitors compliance with these requirements and takes into account user feedback.
Service partners also organize training for their couriers, including in offline mode, by involving specialists.
- Are you thinking of expanding your services in Azerbaijan? Can users expect new delivery formats on the service?
- Azerbaijan is an important market for us and we plan to develop the quality and range of services. In a number of other countries, we have introduced "lower" rates for goods and items that are not urgently needed and can wait a few hours. Such delivery is cheaper and it is important for our customers to choose the option that suits them in terms of speed and price. We are now studying whether there is such a demand in Azerbaijan.
