Paramount is close to raising funding from Gulf funds for a planned major merger with Warner Bros. Discovery. According to reports, three sovereign wealth funds, led by the Public Investment Fund, are in talks to invest a total of about $24 billion.
Warner Bros. Discovery is valued at $81 billion in the $110 billion deal. The deal is expected to close in the third quarter of 2026.
The Saudi fund is ready to allocate about $10 billion. Other potential investors include the Qatar Investment Authority and Abu Dhabi-based L’imad Holding.
It is reported that the investors will not have voting rights in the combined company and this participation is not expected to trigger an investigation by US regulatory agencies.
