SpaceX signs $60 billion deal with Cursor

US space technology company SpaceX has reached an agreement with software platform Cursor to develop a next-generation AI (artificial intelligence) system for coding and knowledge work.

According to the agreement, SpaceX can make one of two choices by the end of this year: either pay Cursor $ 10 billion for the work done, or buy the company for $ 60 billion.

This cooperation draws attention against the backdrop of SpaceX's planned future IPO. According to experts, such steps are designed to increase the attractiveness of the company for investors.

Recently, the parties have already been close. The transfer of some senior Cursor engineers to another AI company owned by Elon Musk and the provision of computing power to Cursor by that company were considered as initial signals of this cooperation.

SpaceX said that the project will combine Cursor's product capabilities for programmers with the company's high-power supercomputer infrastructure.

Cursor is one of the fastest growing technology companies in recent years. Its market value has increased several times in a short period of time, reaching tens of billions of dollars, and is expected to attract new investment at a higher valuation in the near future.

However, fierce competition continues in the market. Cursor and its partners still lag behind the leading AI companies and continue to use other companies' technologies in existing systems.

Experts believe that this agreement can help strengthen the weaknesses of the parties and at the same time be the beginning of a new stage in the AI market.
