Trump mistakenly invested millions in a sushi restaurant instead of AI

US President Donald Trump mistakenly invested millions of dollars in a sushi restaurant chain while trying to invest in an artificial intelligence company.

According to reports, Trump invested between $1 and $5 million in shares of Kura Sushi USA, a company operating in the US. The company operates 91 restaurants across the country.

Social media users believe that Trump or his team mistook the Kura brand for Fujikura, a Japanese technology company that has profited from the artificial intelligence boom. Fujikura is currently one of the fastest-growing companies producing equipment for AI infrastructure.

It is noted that Trump has been actively buying shares of technology giants such as Nvidia, Apple and Dell in recent times. Therefore, although investing in the AI sector seems logical, investing in sushi restaurants has been met with ridicule on social media.

After the incident, shares of Kura Sushi increased by 5.4%. Fujikura shares have fallen by more than 45% in the past week.

The Trump administration has not yet made an official statement on whether the investment was a mistake.
