From January of this year until now, the Innovation and Digital Development Agency under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport has issued a technology park registration certificate to 65 companies operating in the fields of system integration and software development and development to operate as residents of the technology park (outside the technology park).

According to information, this was announced at the meeting held by the Agency with residents. Representatives of companies that have obtained residency for activities outside the technopark took part in the meeting held jointly with "Deloitte" company and the State Tax Service under the Ministry of Economy. The proposals and opinions of the residents were listened to, and questions arising regarding the application of concessions and privileges obtained within the framework of residency were clarified by the experts.
Farid Huseynov, project manager of the Innovation and Digital Development Agency, said during the meeting about residency outside the technopark: "To date, about 200 companies have applied for residency outside the technopark. Among them, 65 companies operating in the field of software and system integration were granted residency. Currently, other companies applying are in the process of collecting and submitting documents. By the end of the year, it is planned to grant residency to 10-14 more companies. Our mission and goal is not only to grant residency, but also to ensure the continuity of the favorable environment created for companies in the subsequent processes, to provide prompt support to companies regarding all the dark moments and difficulties that arise. Meetings in this format are planned to be held every quarter in the next year as well."
At the same time, Deputy Chairman of the Agency, Rashad Khalikov, who spoke at the meeting, specially noted the contribution of concessions and privileges obtained within the framework of residency to the development of the industry: "Residency outside the Technopark is a strategic step for companies operating in the field of software and system integration and makes a significant contribution to their development. Tax exemptions, a number of concessions and privileges create an environment where innovation and technology can flourish. We believe that this process will stimulate the growth of individual companies, as well as the development of the ICT industry of our country as a whole."
According to a number of additions and changes to the regulatory acts, residents operating outside the technology park in the field of system integration and (or) software development and development, starting from the reporting year of their registration in the technology park - for a period of 10 years:
- they are exempt from a number of taxes (income and profit tax, dividend, property, land).
- they will benefit from a number of benefits in income tax: 0% for up to 8000 manats, 5% of the amount exceeding 8000 manats, and 5% of the income for 7 years from 01.01.2026.
- In the period of 10 years from January 1, 2023, depending on their choice (residents and employees), the mandatory state social insurance fee will be paid from the amount of four times the minimum monthly salary or from the income from salaried work.
- foreign specialists engaged to operate outside the technology park will not be required to obtain a work permit.
