Alibaba Cloud opens new data centers in Malaysia and the Philippines

Alibaba Cloud, the cloud services division of Chinese tech giant Alibaba Group, announced that it will open its third data center in Malaysia, and its second data center in the Philippines in October. This move aims to strengthen the company’s position in the Southeast Asia region and meet the growing demand for artificial intelligence (AI) technologies.

The new data centers will enable Alibaba Cloud to operate across 29 regions and 90 availability zones worldwide. This expansion will allow the company to provide more secure, reliable, and easily scalable cloud services.

Additionally, Alibaba Cloud plans to open a major artificial intelligence skills center in Singapore. This center will provide access to advanced AI models for over 5,000 enterprises and more than 100,000 developers. This initiative is part of the company’s growth strategy in the AI field.

Alibaba Cloud has also launched a new development platform called “Model Studio.” This platform allows users to create and develop their own custom AI applications using Alibaba Cloud’s AI models. It supports both closed and open-source models, giving users more flexibility and efficiency in their work.

With this expansion, Alibaba Cloud intends to further strengthen its presence in the Southeast Asia market and meet the rising demand for AI technologies. The company plans to rapidly expand its cloud network across various countries over the next three years and invest $53 billion in AI infrastructure.
