Apple has partnered with Alibaba to implement its artificial intelligence technology in devices in China. This collaboration was required by the Chinese government, and only through this partnership could Apple’s AI operate in the region.
Initially, Apple considered partnering with Baidu, but due to Baidu’s AI not meeting the expected standards, this partnership was abandoned. Apple saw Alibaba’s Qwen AI as a great opportunity. According to reports, Alibaba’s vast data on Chinese residents will allow Apple to personalize its services and become more competitive in the local market.
Apple also considered DeepSeek as a potential partner, but due to DeepSeek’s lack of experience and personnel in large-scale operations, this partnership was also rejected.
