Apple protested the decisions made by the European Union

Apple opposes App Store rules imposed by the European Union under the Digital Markets Act (DMA) and has appealed to the EU Court of Justice to overturn the ruling. The goal of the DMA is to reduce the power of big tech companies like Apple and allow iPhone and iPad users to download apps from stores other than the App Store.

At the same time, it aims to reduce commissions received through the App Store by forcing companies to use their own payment systems. Opposing these obligations imposed by the DMA, Apple refuses to define the App Store as an "essential platform service", noting that the rules would weaken security and privacy protections for iOS users. Other tech companies, such as Meta and TikTok, have also objected to obligations under the DMA. Now the EU Court of Justice will consider the objections of Apple, Meta and TikTok.
