AirPods 4, which Apple plans to introduce in 2024, will offer a number of changes compared to existing models.
According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, the AirPods 4 will be available in two versions at two different price points and will replace the AirPods 3 and AirPods 2. The new model will have a shorter root design, which is between the current AirPods and the AirPods Pro. Although ergonomic improvements are expected, it is not yet clear whether silicone ear tips will be used.
In addition, AirPods 4 will offer active noise cancellation (ANC), previously only available on AirPods Pro. The charging case will also receive some updates; It will have a USB-C port and support Find My, preventing the product from getting lost.
While AirPods 4 are expected to be released in 2024, Apple plans to introduce a new version of AirPods Max in the same year. However, the AirPods Max update will reportedly be limited to new color options and the addition of a USB-C charging port. Apple plans to turn AirPods into hearing aids with a software update towards the end of 2024.
