Azerbaijan, Turkey and Kazakhstan are developing a joint satellite

Kazakhstan, Turkey, Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan are launching a joint satellite project. Within the framework of the cooperation of the four countries, a CubeSat-type scientific satellite is planned to be developed and launched into orbit next year.

The information was announced at the informal summit of the Organization of Turkic States in the city of Turkestan. Kazakh officials said that the project is considered an important step in terms of strengthening technological cooperation between the countries of the region.

Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan and Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development Jaslan Madiyev said in his speech that the country has identified the field of artificial intelligence as a strategic priority. According to him, Starlink and OneWeb satellite communication technologies are currently widely used in Kazakhstan.

During the summit, it was noted that the construction of the Trans-Caspian fiber-optic communication line will further increase the transit and digital capabilities of the region. At the same time, the country has put into operation the largest supercomputers in the region and preparations are underway for the “Data Center Valley” project.

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev proposed the creation of a joint technology and innovation center of the Turkic states. He said that the platform called "Turkic AI" could play an important role in the digital development of the countries of the region in the future.
