Internet outages in Russia paralyze doctors' work

The constant restrictions on the Internet in Russia have already begun to have a serious impact on the healthcare system. According to local media, the majority of 1,627 doctors who participated in a survey conducted by the “Doctor’s Directory” application said that internet outages make their work process difficult.

According to the survey results, about half of the doctors said that there is no stable internet in the medical institutions where they work. Therefore, the blocking of mobile internet practically paralyzes the work in hospitals and clinics.

59 percent of respondents said that they had problems accessing medical applications, and 49 percent said that access to scientific articles and medical databases was limited. In addition, sending test results, transferring patient data to the system, and communication between doctors have also become difficult.

It is noted that internet problems also affect patients. According to the information, an oncologist living in the Tula region of Russia was unable to contact his doctor in time, which disrupted the treatment process.

Experts believe that since the issue affects a sensitive area such as healthcare, steps to resolve the problem should not be delayed.
