Emirates, the national airline of Dubai, has launched Starlink satellite internet on its Airbus A380 and Boeing 777 aircraft. The new service will be completely free for all passengers — regardless of class.
The company reached an agreement with Starlink in 2025. According to Emirates, 32 Boeing 777s and the first Airbus A380 have already been equipped with the free Wi-Fi system, and these aircraft have begun commercial flights.
Thanks to the new system, passengers will be able to make video calls during flights, download files, work online, play games and shop in online stores.
The company also plans to launch live TV broadcasts via Starlink in the future. At the first stage, this service will be available in mobile applications, and later on seat-back screens.
Satellite internet is being installed in the UK. Emirates aims to equip its entire fleet — a total of 232 aircraft — with the Starlink system by the end of 2027.
