Bill Gates’ daughter’s startup raises $30 million in funding

Phia, the startup co-founded by Bill Gates’ daughter Phoebe Gates, has raised $30 million in its latest investment round. According to Bloomberg, this funding brings the company’s total valuation to $180 million.

The Phia app was launched in April 2025 by Phoebe Gates and her Stanford University roommate, Sophia Kianni. The application runs both on the iOS platform and as an extension for the Google Chrome browser.

Powered by artificial intelligence, the service greatly simplifies online shopping. Phia helps users find similar items to the clothes, shoes, and accessories they like. The system searches through both new and second-hand products.

One of the platform’s key features is price analysis: it instantly shows whether the price of a recommended item is cheap, average, or expensive. The platform currently aggregates offers from more than 40,000 shopping websites.

The startup has achieved rapid success. As of November, the app has already been downloaded 750,000 times.

It is worth noting that in the initial investment round held in September, the company raised $8 million. Among the investors at that time were celebrities such as Hailey Bieber and Kris Jenner.
