The LingGuang app, developed by China’s Ant Group, has quickly surpassed OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Sora 2 in download numbers. According to the developers, the app, launched on November 18, 2025, was downloaded by over one million users within the first four days and by more than two million users within six days.
This AI-based platform allows users to create various programs within 30 seconds using simple text commands. Through a feature called “WAIb-coding,” users can develop calorie counters, simple games, or educational tools without any coding knowledge. The app also supports creating interactive graphics, 3D models, and animations.
Part of the Alibaba Group, the company’s product currently ranks first among free apps in China’s App Store. While downloading the app from stores is unrestricted, submitting queries via the website requires a Chinese mobile number. Temporary technical issues caused by high user volume have been resolved by the company.
