Singer Dua Lipa has sued Samsung for $15 million for using her photo on TV boxes without permission. Variety writes that the company allegedly created the impression that the performer was endorsing the products.
Allegedly, Samsung has been using the singer's photo on TV boxes since 2025. Lawyers say that the photo was included in a marketing campaign without Dua Lipa's knowledge and consent. Although the singer demanded that the company stop using it, Samsung refused.
The lawsuit states that the company made money by creating the impression that Dua Lipa was "recommending" the products. Some users on social networks even wrote that they wanted to buy the TV because of the Dua Lipa photo on the box.
Samsung is accused of copyright infringement, unauthorized use of personal image and false advertising. The company has not yet commented on the matter.
