The legal battle between Martı and the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) has concluded with a ruling from the Council of State (Danıştay), officially confirming Martı’s right to obtain a license.
Previously, the 7th Administrative Court of Istanbul had ruled in favor of Martı, declaring İBB’s decision to withhold the license unlawful and annulling it. Although İBB filed an appeal against this decision, the higher court rejected the appeal, reaffirming Martı’s position. The case, which eventually reached the Council of State, ended with the same outcome: Danıştay confirmed Martı’s rightful claim, bringing all legal proceedings to a close.
Martı’s founder, Oğuz Alper Öktem, highlighted the significance of the decision:
"With this ruling, we have officially confirmed that we are an integral part of digital transportation in Istanbul. From the very beginning, we have pursued this journey with enthusiasm, and having the highest administrative court recognize our position is extremely rewarding. We will continue to contribute to Istanbul’s transportation system through technology and innovation."
