OpenAI is acquiring the team behind business software startup Convogo, which provides automation of leadership assessments and feedback for executive coaches and HR professionals.
The deal does not include Convogo’s intellectual property or technology. As part of the deal, the startup’s three co-founders — Matt Cooper, Evan Cater, and Mike Gillett — will join OpenAI to work on AI cloud projects.
Convogo’s service will be completely discontinued as part of the transition. The deal is reportedly being completed in an all-stock exchange.
This is OpenAI’s ninth HR-focused acquisition in the past year. In most previous similar deals, the acquired products have either been closed or integrated into OpenAI’s existing services.
OpenAI continues to strengthen its technical capabilities and expand its team through such acquisitions.
