The US Department of Defense has signed a new $500 million contract with Scale AI. Under the contract, the startup will provide artificial intelligence solutions to support military data processing and decision-making processes.
The new agreement is five times larger than the $100 million contract that Scale AI signed with the Pentagon in September 2025. The startup is also currently participating in other US military artificial intelligence projects.
The signing of the contract followed a memorandum by US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth in January 2026 encouraging the wider application of artificial intelligence technologies.
The Pentagon has also signed cooperation agreements in the field of artificial intelligence with Nvidia, Microsoft, Reflection AI and Amazon for secret military networks.
