Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rashad Nabiyev held another meeting with startup founders and ecosystem representatives. The meeting was also attended by Farid Osmanov, Chairman of the Innovation and Digital Development Agency, and Mammad Karim, Head of the Caucasus Ventures Fund.
During the meeting, extensive discussions were held on the current state of the startup ecosystem in Azerbaijan, upcoming challenges, and development prospects. Startup founders shared their experiences and voiced their proposals for promoting innovative initiatives and more sustainable development of the ecosystem. Based on these proposals, support mechanisms that the state can provide, including financing, regulatory environment, and institutional cooperation opportunities, were discussed.
It should be noted that these meetings are a series. Last month, Minister Rashad Nabiyev met with Azerbaijani startup founders operating in Silicon Valley and had direct discussions about the challenges and opportunities they face in global markets. In addition, a few years ago, the minister held similar meetings with local ecosystem representatives and listened to the initial problems and needs related to the formation of the startup environment.
The main purpose of such meetings is to listen directly to the ecosystem, hear real problems from the field participants themselves, and take these opinions into account in the decision-making process. Based on observations, it is expected that at this stage this dialogue will translate into practical results and processes aimed at solving existing problems in the startup ecosystem will be implemented more quickly.
