South Korean tech giant Samsung has announced a strategic partnership with artificial intelligence-based search engine developer Perplexity AI. The company will launch the new integration on February 25, 2026.
According to the report, Perplexity’s AI search features will be integrated directly into the Galaxy S26 smartphone line. Users will be able to activate the system via the “Hey Plex” voice command or by assigning the device’s side button specifically for this function.
Perplexity will be one of the first AI companies to be included in Samsung’s Galaxy AI ecosystem. The company’s algorithms will be integrated into a number of internal applications, including the “Notes”, “Clock”, “Gallery”, “Calendar” and “Reminders” sections. However, additional technical details have not yet been disclosed.
Earlier, in June 2025, Bloomberg reported that Samsung was in talks to integrate Perplexity into the Galaxy S26 models. According to the report, Perplexity will be one of the assistants to be introduced in the new series and will also function as part of the Bixby voice assistant.
The new partnership is seen as part of Samsung's strategy to expand its artificial intelligence capabilities and increase its competitive advantage in the smartphone market.
