The Istanbul-based Turkish startup Commencis team secured 2nd place globally in the international artificial intelligence competition, OpenAI to Z Challenge. Over 10,000 participants competed in this prestigious event.
The Commencis team achieved this success with their project GlyphTrack. The project combines GPT-based technologies with advanced anomaly detection methods to identify hidden archaeological sites and traces of ancient civilizations beneath forest canopies.
The project was developed by a team consisting of Dorukhan Arslan, Ece Ünal, Pınar Ersoy, and Ebubekir Karamustafa, with support from archaeologists Görkem Kızılkayak and Güneş Duru.
Commencis founder and CEO Fırat İşbecer stated that the award is a testament to the team’s dedication and skills. He expressed pride in seeing a Turkish technology startup at the forefront of global artificial intelligence innovation.
