On February 5, 2026, the “University Demo Day” event was held at ADA University. The event was held for the fifth time as part of the SABAH.academy and Baku ID series of events.
The main goal of the event is to provide university students with the opportunity to present their ideas to a wide audience, as well as contribute to the development of their organizational, leadership and presentation skills.
This year, 12 different teams from 6 universities participated in the event. The participating universities included ADA University, Baku State University (BSU), Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) – including SABAH groups, and Baku Higher Oil School (BHOS).
During the “University Demo Day” event, students took to the stage in teams and presented their startup ideas. During the event, participants had the opportunity to present their ideas, receive feedback from the jury, and obtain investment.
After the presentations, the event participants had the opportunity to get to know the startups they were interested in more closely within the framework of the “Startup Fair” organized in a specially designated area. Then, the announcement of the winners and the award ceremony were held.
- 1st place was taken by the “ResearchEx” team representing ADA University. The team members received 100% scholarships for the courses they wanted with the support of ABB Tech Academy as a reward.
- 2nd place was taken by the “MagentAI” team representing Baku Higher Oil School. The team members received 60% scholarships for the courses they wanted with the support of ABB Tech Academy as a reward.
- 3rd place was taken by the “FocsMode” team representing Azerbaijan Technical University. The team members received 40% scholarships for the courses they wanted with the support of ABB Tech Academy as a reward.
The winners were determined by the jury based on criteria such as the innovativeness of the idea, compliance with current market requirements and the quality of the presentation.
Additionally, during the event, the following teams were selected for the SABAH.lab incubation program: "Evalu" representing Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University, "Climasel" representing Baku Higher Oil School, and "PayZone" representing ADA University.
Over the past four years, "University Demo Day" has become an important meeting platform for students who want to develop in the field of business and entrepreneurship. The event provides participants with an opportunity to connect with potential investors and take their first steps towards integration into the startup ecosystem.
SABAH.academy is a program aimed at developing an educational platform and strengthening Azerbaijan's resilience in the global market. The program was created under the umbrella of SABAH.HUB with the support of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan and is implemented in cooperation with IE Business School, an international business school.
Baku ID is one of the main innovation events in Azerbaijan dedicated to startups and investments, organized by the SABAH.HUB Innovation Center.
