Alphabet, the parent company of Google, has reported its fourth-quarter financial results. It said it had 325 million paid subscribers, including Google One and YouTube Premium, up from 300 million three months ago.
YouTube's advertising revenue rose 9% to $11.38 billion in the quarter, slightly below analysts' expectations. However, the platform's total annual revenue from advertising and subscriptions reached $60 billion, up 17% from a year ago.
Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai said new, genre-based subscription packages for YouTube TV will be introduced. The company also said it has seen an increase in the use of YouTube Shorts, podcasts and AI-powered features.
