Our plan in the first stage was to invest in about 50 startups. After that, we aim to make additional investments in the 5–10 most promising projects among them.
The head and legal representative of “Caucasus Ventures,” Mammad Karim, said this in an interview with AZERTAC.
“This approach is known worldwide as ‘follow-on investment.’ (Follow-on investment means giving extra funding to a company where investors had already invested before – ed.).
In addition, we are now also thinking about creating a second fund. This time, we plan to expand our investor base and attract investors from countries like Türkiye, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan. Our goal is to build a multinational, internationally recognized fund.
As I said, our main target is to create the second fund and establish a more international platform. At the same time, we will continue to make extra investments in the most successful projects from our current portfolio.
On the other hand, we also want to pay more attention to awareness-raising. It is important to introduce successful Azerbaijani founders abroad and share their experiences. This not only motivates young people but also helps the ecosystem grow faster,” Mammad Karim noted.
