Meta has announced that it is gradually rolling out voice and video calling features for WhatsApp Web.
Thanks to the innovation, users will now be able to make individual and group voice and video calls directly from the browser without downloading the desktop application. In addition, it will be possible to transfer active group calls from a phone or tablet to WhatsApp Web or Desktop without stopping the call.
The update also adds a Waiting Room function for calls. Through this function, call organizers will be able to pre-approve participants who want to join with an invitation link.
Meta says that video calls will automatically switch to HD (high quality) mode shortly. Users will also be able to enable or disable the Noise Suppression function in the call settings.
According to the company, the new features are currently being introduced in stages and will be available to all users soon.
